Writer, Editor &
Digital Health Specialist
In 2008, I received my MFA from the Tisch School of the Arts. But instead of celebrating, I was panicking. I was in debt, couldn’t find a job, and was having a hell of a time with my mental and physical health. So, on a whim, I decided to move to Boulder, Colorado. What felt like a random hail mary at the time turned out to be one of the most important experiences of my life. Not only did I learn how to treat many of my ailments with nutrition and other whole-body strategies, I realized that I wanted to help others do the same.
While creative writing is my first love, health and wellness is a close second. I’ve dedicated my career — and my personal life, really — to helping others feel educated and empowered when it comes to their own health journey. I enjoy aligning myself with brands and projects that place a priority on scientific integrity, readability, and fun.
I also love creating and/or building upon a brand voice, elevating health content so it stands out from the crowd, and helping to promote wellness products to the right audience.

“As the only FT staff reporter on a tiny team, Jess demonstrated outstanding grit and agility in developing WW’s public-facing digital content during the coronavirus pandemic, pivoting from long-form SEO features to fast-twitch, news-driven service and analysis that addressed breaking COVID research, emerging cultural conversations around weight and wellness, and the audience’s deepest needs and hardships during the outbreak. Jess was ruthless in landing big sources, ever committed to getting the story right, and always prepared to confront whatever an upside-down day might bring. It’s my sincere honor to have Slacked and Zoomed with her so closely.”
